Round 1 Review

Tim Jenkinson - Wednesday, March 09, 2016

Hey Boys,

Quality first round on the weekend and some ripping scores.

Timmy Watson played the game of his life to take the chocolates and broke 100 along the way. It was a full 15 shots better than his effort at the same course last year. So it good to see the improvement that people are making.

Watto wasn't the only guy that shaved massive amounts of shots off from our last trip to mandalay. How about these numbers.
Glen. 15 shots better. and an Eagle!
Mozza. 16 shots
Jay 16 shots
Laingers 15 shots
and last but not least - Arde. 30 shots off.

Amazing stuff! Along with the improvement, there were some other factors that made the course play super easy on saturday compared to last year;

Front tees /No wind / Slow green and the rough has been cut right back since last year.

There is $200 up for grabs each round. Follow all the money details on the site on the $$ page.

I'll make arrangements with each of the winners in the next day or two.
Winners - Send me your bank details if you can.

So based on those factors the offical DSR (daily scratch rating) played 2 shots below par. see Arde's official results below.

What does this mean? Basically that when i'm updating all your handicaps im not being super harsh on all the blokes that beat it because it did play easier than normal.... Except Paul... His bandity performance has meet with swift HC corrections. :)
Check out the new HCs on the site -
They is good money up for grabs every round, so I'm definitely going to put peoples nose out of joint at some stage when i wind them in, but tough t1tties, I did it last year and it resulted in a really tight comp all year up unti lthe 2nd playoff.
If you feel harshly done by, the solutions is pretty simple, get an official handicap.
Everyone can sign up quickly online at and all they need to do is put "TJC" in the promo code box so I know that they are part of your group and entitled to some extra’s.
That it for now fellas. I'll do my best to get the round wraps out more quickly, but just check the site as I'll generally update the ladder and HCs within 24 hours.

Round 2 is open for registration.

There was talk of moving the date, but it's too difficult so there will be at least 7 blokes with a pretty serious hangover.
